Supporting the Cycling Works pledge

We are proud to support the Cycling Works pledge as part of our commitment to fostering a vibrant, sustainable city.

Our four Community Activators all live and work in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki, all committed to inspiring and driving sustainable change, together. Waste reduction is broad and with such a range of projects that drive us, ultimately it all comes back to our role of kaitiaki for Papatūānuku. From a Market Garden in Glen Innes to recycled Christmas tree decorating in Te Papapa, everyone can participate in their own way, in a way that means something to them and their whanau.

One of our projects in particular relies on safe cycling networks. As part of our business food scraps collection trial in Onehunga, Time to Thrive’s dedicated team of cyclists have been collecting food scraps and delivering this valuable resource to our Community Compost Hub in Oranga. It’s so important for us that diverted food scraps stay local and support kai for residents in our community garden. Safe cycling infrastructure plays a crucial role in reducing our environmental impact but ultimately, the safety of our cyclists with their heavy cargo is priority number one.
